The Bus Ride

Last Wednesday, all the sixth grade students  were waiting for the Carolina Livery buses outside of the pod. We were all waiting and anticipating the trip to YMCA Camp Kirkwood.  Mr. Lovett gathered us all to play a game of Simon Says, in the middle of our game, the buses got here. We loaded our big bags onto the buses, then we got on the bus. The ride was 2 hours! On the bus I was watching the movie and eating my Animal Crackers.

The Activities

Once we got there, it was raining a lot, so we put our bags on the pavilion and sat there waiting for our cabin assignments. I was in cabin 7, we went to our cabins and put our stuff down and made our beds. We went to lunch then they told us to put on our bathing suits. I was in group 3, and we were at the pool first with groups 1 and 2. After the pool we changed and went to the Kanga Jump, which is like a trampoline that looks like a blob. After the Kanga Jump we went to dinner. After dinner we went back to our cabins for free time. Then we had a choice of either watching The Lorax or playing dodge ball. I chose dodge ball because it was what most of my cabin was doing. We got shaved ice and once we went back to the pavilion, it started raining. The lightning was why we all had to go inside. The next day was mostly the same, but except at night we had a ceremony and s’mores. The next morning we were all so excited to go home. We packed our bags and left. That was the end of our trip. We had so much fun!
